Flyover Carport & Patio | Tanby, QLD

Our dear customers in Tanby spoke to our Rockhampton team about making the most of their generous driveway. Our team worked closely with our customers to understand how the carport would be used and the aesthetic elements to consider during the design phase.

A flyover design roof was chosen to maximise ceiling heights. With enough room for the caravan, it also allows for increased air circulation under the carport. 125mm thick insulated roofing panels were chosen for optimal span in this cyclonic region. During summer, the insulated panel keeps the concrete driveway cooler reducing heat transfer to the home. The insulated roofing also has the advantage of spanning longer distances with less support. As a result, the beam and post count can be reduced compared to similarly sized steel roofing.

The carport provides ample covered parking and at 7m wide and 6m deep is slightly bigger than a traditional double carport. The roof uses a combination of bright white ceilings and Surfmist top. This keeps things bright under the carport and matches the existing steel roof of the home. The Night Sky gutter and barge are paired with black posts to match the existing colour scheme of the home.

As the carport designs were coming together, our customer added some much-needed cover to his shed.  A 6m wide and 2.4m deep patio was designed for the task. Built from Coolskin steel roofing, the new patio provides plenty of cover and is perfectly colour-matched to the shed.
